ISHA Launches Delphi Study to Define Adolescent Hip Screening Protocol
Led by Dr JN Cakic and Mr Patrick Carton
ISHA is proud to launch an important new research initiative—the Hip Preservation Delphi Study—which aims to establish a standardised methodology for hip examination and screening in adolescents.
This collaborative ISHA study will use the Delphi method to build international consensus on screening techniques and diagnostic protocols. It is led by esteemed hip preservation specialists Dr JN Cakic and Mr Patrick Carton.
Why This Matters:
Early detection of hip disorders in adolescents can prevent long-term complications, improve treatment outcomes, and support lifelong joint health. However, there is currently no universally accepted protocol for adolescent hip screening—this study aims to change that.
How to Get Involved:
ISHA invites healthcare professionals, including clinicians, physiotherapists, sports injury specialists, researchers, and anyone with a vested interest in adolescent musculoskeletal health to join this initiative. Whether you’re interested in contributing to the Delphi process or participating in future screening programmes, we welcome your involvement.
To express interest or learn more, please contact the ISHA Secretariat Office at Caroline@ishasoc.org.
Together, we can shape the standards that define the future of adolescent hip health.
